Oh my gosh, yesterday's concert was so amazing... I cannot even... :iconsobbplz:
...
Story time! ;D
So yesterday, August 9th, 2014, I saw Linkin Park (along with 30 Seconds to Mars and AFI on the Carnivores Tour) and needless to say that was one of THE BEST concerts I've ever been to.
I got there around 5:00PM and the gates didn't open until 6:00PM. Even after the gates opened, I wasn't inside the venue until 6:45... As a result, I missed a few AFI songs. I purchased VIP pit tickets and boy was I close to the stage. I hung out towards the back of the area because it was more roomy and not as claustrophobic. Anyways, AFI was alright, I've seen better bands before. :XD: Once AFI finished, 30 Seconds To Mars came on about 30 minutes later. During that intermission, some ladies were handing out these gigantic 30STM flags. The lady next to me got a flag and I was all like "No fair... :iconblazelazycryplz:" Soon enough 30STM came on stage and Jared Leto strutted onstage wearing this ridiculous white robe with (sagging) white pants and a crown. At first I thought it was absurd but I got used to it. :lmao: After singing two or three songs he took off the robe and the crown. A few times throughout the set he came into the crowd and he even went inside the gap between the VIP pit and general admission pit!! At one point he was FIVE FEET AWAY FROM ME. FIVE FREAKING FEET! This was my second time seeing 30STM and they did a better job this time around. The crowd was more engaged too.

Once 30STM finished up, I went to the concessions stand and bought some lemonade. While heading back to the pit, some drunk guy tapped my shoulder and said, "Are you Marilyn Manson because you are one of the Beautiful People!" I was like, "I am half your age, you sick fuck!" but I ignored him and proceeded to the pit. A good 40 minutes later, Linkin Park came on. They started the set with a session/requiem/catalyst/gulity all the same mashup followed by Gulity All The Same. I recorded the intro of it, but it is pickle quality and all staticy. :saddummy: Then Linkin Park proceeded to sing Given Up (recorded Chester's infamous 17 second scream, but yet again pickle quailty), Points of Authority, and One Step Closer. During the end of One Step Closer I noticed something about Mike Shinoda's shirt... VENGEANCE UNIVERITY! Me being a little Zacky Vee fangirl, I had a mini heart attack. :XD: Then they played the intro of Blackout (my favorite song from A Thousand Suns!!) which blended in seamlessly with Papercut. Then they sang their new song Rebellion, (way better live tbh) and Runaway and Wastelands soon followed. After Wastelands, they played Castle of Glass. The first half was the album version and the second half was the Recharged Version!! AHHH!!! AHHH!!! There was a piano outro which led to an acoustic mashup of Leave Out All The Rest, Shadow of the Day and Iridescent. Afterwards, Mike Shinoda rapped to Robot Boy and shortly after Joe Hahn did his DJ solo type thing. I'll let you finish Skrillex, but Mr. Hahn is the greatest dubstep DJ of all time. As his solo slowly faded, Burn it Down grew louder and louder until the song started. Waiting for the End and Final Masquerade followed without interruption. Shortly after that, Mike rapped to Wretches and Kings, Remember the Name and When They Come For Me. Mike Shinoda for best rapper!! After rapping, Chester sang Numb, In The End and finished off the main set with an extended version of Faint. Knowing that Linkin Park usually ends their shows with Bleed It Out, I chanted for an encore. Sure enough they were back! They didn't play just one song, they didn't play two, they didn't even play five! THEY PLAYED SEVEN SONGS! SEVEN! FOR AN ENCORE! SEVEN! They were Lost in The Echo, New Divide, Crawling, With You, Until It's Gone, What I've Done and an extended version of Bleed It Out with some Catalyst remixed into it. All good things must come to an end and the concert was one of them. ;-; While leaving the venue, I heard a polka version of One Step Closer playing in the background. The walk to the car was an utter nightmare! A five minute walk took a good half hour plus I was stuck in the parking lot for another hour. ;___; I didn't get home until like 3:00 in the morning. *sobs*

Unfortunately, Linkin Park did not play my two favorites from them (Across the Line and Pushing Me Away), but heck, they played most of my other favorites. <33

This goes down in my books as my second favorite concert (tied with this year's 98rock fest with A7X, Trivium and Volbeat). My favorite concert will ALWAYS be Uproar 2011 because it was my very first one AND my top four bands at the time were there (3DG, ETF, BFMV, and of course A7X)

Before I go, look what I did to celebrate the memory of the concert!

AHAHA that sounds amazing. I've worked at a few concerts lately. Last one I've been to  as an attendee was video games live XD worked at a FOB concert, and frankly didn't like it much. (And they hogged all the venue's wifi so the credit card machines didn't work |||D) so far, the fray was the best concert I've worked at, but skrillex is coming up and I'm pretty excited.
